Canada Solar Opportunities

Solar is now financially viable again in Canada, and even more so in Ontario with both Federal and Provincial tax credits and incentives, along with more efficient panels being built at scale.

You can replace anywhere from 10-100% of your electricity load.

Options include: behind the meter, behind the meter with battery or generator (suitable for Class A in some cases), and net metering (this allows you to store your energy on the grid and get a credit for it later).

• Fully refundable 30% tax investment credit

• IESO incentive up to $860k / MW ($860k cap)

• Accelerated capital cost allowance allows you to write off up to 55% year 1 and the balance in the following years.

• Year 1: 65-70% of the cost is paid by rebates and incentives

• As fast as a 2.2 year payback, average payback 4-5 years.

• How much usable roof space you have vs your usage will influence your ROI – however – buildings over 40k Sq. ft and up are where we see the better returns.
